There are many different badges that can be earned in Scouts. They are divided into four sections:
Activity Badges
Staged Badges
Challenge Badges
Core Badges
If A child manages to complete all the challenge badges and any four staged or activity badges, they can earn the highest award available to a Scout: The Chief Scout’s Gold Award!
Activity Badges
Activity badges are red and blue badges that can be earned for completing various activities Become an expert in something you love or try something shiny and new. There’s a badge to suit each and every Scout. For more information on the different badges, you can collect, click on the button below
Staged Badges
Staged Badges are blue badges that can be earned for completing activities at various levels. These badges allow a young person to gain whichever badge is appropriate to the level they have reached. It is possible, for example, for a Scout who is an excellent swimmer to gain a higher level badge than a Scout who has just started swimming. Challenge, Award and Core Badges
Challenge Awards are all about stepping outside your comfort zone. Try out something you wouldn’t normally be interested in. Take the lead on something that scares you. Along the way, you’ll unlock hidden talents and stand tall. If you can collect all nine of these, as well as six activity badges, you can earn the highest award a Scout can earn The Chief Scout Gold Award!
This is the highest award a Scout can earn, and it’s something you work on gradually throughout your whole time in the section.
